From September 23-25, HD Hyundai Construction Machinery President Choi Tae-gun visited Xinjiang, China, to accelerate the company’s market expansion and business development efforts for super-large excavators in the region. A customer meeting for 125-ton super-large excavators and a handover ceremony for 16 R1250-9 excavators were held in Xinjiang with great fanfare. President Choi attended the event alongside the management team of Hyundai's Chinese subsidiary. During the event, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed for the establishment of a mining customer service center, with participation from local dealers and nearly 20 customers.

On September 23, President Choi first attended the 125-ton super-large excavator customer meeting in Urumqi. This was his second time participating in an event focused on 125-ton super-large excavators since March 11. In his speech, President Choi stated, “Our ability to enter the highly selective Chinese super-large excavator market demonstrates Hyundai's R&D, manufacturing, and service capabilities. Hyundai will spare no effort to provide comprehensive service to ensure that customers who choose our equipment can trust in its performance.” Representatives from Hyundai’s Chinese subsidiary provided a detailed explanation of the performance of the R1250-9 super-large excavator. During the meeting, President Choi, on behalf of Hyundai, signed a tripartite strategic cooperation agreement with local dealers and key customers for the 125-ton super-large excavator.

On September 24, a grand handover ceremony for 16 R1250-9 125-ton super-large excavators was held at a mining site in Hami, Xinjiang. Despite strong winds and dust on the day of the event, the enthusiasm of both Hyundai employees and customers remained undiminished. President Choi traveled eight hours by car to attend the ceremony. In his opening speech, President Choi expressed gratitude for the customers' trust in Hyundai's super-large excavators, promising that the equipment would live up to their expectations by delivering excellent performance and high-quality service. The customers, in turn, were deeply appreciative of President Choi’s long journey to attend the handover ceremony. They stated that this handover of 16 machines marks only the beginning of the cooperation and that they look forward to more opportunities for collaboration in the future.

Additionally, to ensure that customers have peace of mind during their mining operations, Hyundai introduced the "Super Large Excavator Mining Customer Parts and Service Support Plan," which provides dedicated parts and service support for mining customers. At the customer meeting, Hyundai’s Chinese subsidiary signed a strategic cooperation agreement with its Xinjiang dealer for the construction of a mining service center. The plan includes establishing a 2,200-square-meter service center within five kilometers of the mining site, covering a 200 km radius around the center and serving Hyundai’s mining excavators in the region. The service center will provide welding, processing, parts repair, in-house repair of excavators, a parts warehouse, and accommodation facilities for more than 20 residents.

The Hyundai R1250-9 super-large excavator is a flagship product in Hyundai’s range of large excavators and has been field-proven through years of international construction projects. Since its introduction to the Chinese market in November 2023, the excavator has been widely recognized by customers for its exceptional performance. The handover of these 16 units serves as further testimony to the trust and confidence customers have in Hyundai's equipment.
